Diamond Wedding Bands and Wedding Etiquette in 2015

We live in a day and age where social media dictates many things. There are not too many people who do not have a Facebook and Twitter account. With this new way of thought comes new etiquette that dictates how you are supposed to act when you are getting married and when you are a guest at someone else's wedding. You certainly do not want to step on anyone's toes the day they exchange their magical diamond wedding bands, so make sure you pay attention.

If you are going to a wedding, make sure you wait to publicly congratulate them. If your sister has told you she just got engaged, do not immediately go to Facebook to congratulate her. Instead, wait until she has said something on Facebook. That means it is safe for you to discuss. It is NOT your place to tell people she is engaged. That is her responsibility, especially in the very beginning. Also, keep any wedding planning discussions to a private message. Not all of the friends on your friends list will be invited so it could breed some feelings of resentment for those who are not invited. Additionally, this is a very intimate event so the entire world does not need to know every single detail about the engagement ring and wedding plans. Be respectful of people's privacy.
