Did you know that engagement rings are not limited to just women? There has been a recent trend in women giving men engagement rings as a token of their love and desire to get married. Many people may think this is a bit taboo, but our nation and our world are evolving, and people are changing it up in order to progress with the times. There is nothing wrong with a man receiving a promise ring from his lady. After all, in same sex relationships, both individuals often wear rings or bands on their left fingers to symbolize their devotion to one another.
The societal "standard" of men giving these tokens of their commitment to women alone is long gone. If we expect to grow as a nation and expand our minds, then we need to be accepting of other people's lifestyles, even if they do not line up with our own. There is nothing in the Bible that says men cannot have diamond engagement rings! So, let us be open to what the world has to offer and continue to open our hearts to love.
